United States’ Michael Phelps won eighth gold medal in the 400-meter medley relay in the National Aquatics Center at the Beijing 2008 Olympics in Beijing, Aug. 17, 2008.

Phelps made the new swimming history.

  1. I have never really watched the Olympics as much as I have this year. I just find it so interesting how all of our American Olympians are breaking world records like Phelps.   2. Michael Phelps is, without a doubt, the face of his sport just like Tiger Woods, Michael Jordan, Wayne Gretzky, Muhammad Ali, Brett Favre, Roger Federer and Babe Ruth. However, for all that he accomplished in this years Olympic games, I still don’t think he ranks in the top 5 of all-time Olympians.
